March certainly has come in like a lion where I live in Ohio... 3 days ago it was a balmy 62 degrees out and last night 4 inches of snow and ice blanketed the area... sooo I am thinking spring!
My favorite of all flowers are true spring beauties ~ tulips and bearded irises! I can not wait to see the tightly curled bright green leaf tips peeking up through the ground at me. I have hundreds of them planted in my yard.
Tulips and bearded irises in glorious shades of deep purples and white wave hello from my front yard in the cool spring breeze while a rainbow of pure tulip heaven paints the backyard landscape.
And I know I am more then ready for spring when I even miss my little insect friends the bees.
I just bought them a very cool new
Mason Bee House
to live in so they can pollinate my garden to their little bee-heart's delight! I am sorely tempted to wander out into the snow just to hang it up...
But spring will be here soon enough I suppose.Meanwhile I will comfort myself by thumbing through my gardening magazines, picking out and ordering a wealth of new "wow I want that" floral finds, maybe a new tool or two I just can't do without and of course a (yet another) fun garden gnome!
